The Girl In Seat 5A

Travel Like You Mean It

09/15/15

It’s Only a Day Awaaaayyyy!!

Sing it with me, everyone: Tooooomorrow, tomorrow, I’m leaving tomorrow! Poland is only a day awaaaayyyyy!

I’m just a wee bit excited! For anyone who is curious, here is our itinerary:

After a VERY long travel day (9 hours to London, 5 hour layover, 2.5 hours to Warsaw, 4 hour drive to Krakow) we will arrive in Krakow on the evening of Thursday, September 17.

  • 9/18: Wandering around Krakow, discovering its beauty
  • 9/19: A visit to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines
  • 9/20 – 9/22: More exploration of Krakow, eating delicious food and drinking lots of vodka
  • 9/22 – 9/23: An overnight visit to Zakopane. I am very afraid of heights (well, of falling from a great height) but it is my personal goal to overcome this and take the lift up to the mountain. Wish me luck!
  • 9/23: Drive to Warsaw with a stop in Chestochowa
  • 9/23 – 9/25: Exploring Warsaw, eating more delicious food and drinking more vodka
  • 9/26: Heading back home
I am super excited and will be posting lots of pictures to Instagram throughout my trip. If you want to follow along, you can find me on Instagram as thegirlinseat5a.
If anyone has any suggestions on things to do (stuff beyond what you find in guide books), places to eat, food to try, etc., please let me know in the comments below!

Czesc Denise! I'm sure you will have a blast in Poland. Definitely bring some warm layers as it gets chilly esp. in Zakopane. I'll send you an email with some restaurant recs. Bummer you couldn't reach the Eat Warsaw guys. I'd recommend getting in touch with Magda of the Crust & Dust blog. She's a very sweet Polish gal and speaks excellent English. I did a small foodie tour and a private pierogi class with her while I lived in Warsaw. Here's her blog or find her on Facebook: http://www.crustanddust.pl/. Hopefully you can get something sorted!

    Smacznego! 🙂

Thanks, Joy! Yes I was disappointed about Eat Warsaw (they never did respond), but I will reach out to Magda and see if we can set something up with her. I appreciate your help!
